What is it?
Vulvodynia is a chronic pain condition that occurs in the vaginal opening known as vulva that cannot be explained or no known cause.
What are the symptoms?
Vulvodynia presents as:
- Genital pain described as burning pain.
- Pain during sexual intercourse.
- Vaginal dryness.
- Vaginal itching.
- Pelvic pain.
What to expect?
Try the following:
- Avoiding irritants such as tight-fitting clothing, perfumes and dyes.
- Abrasive activities, such as cycling, should also be avoided.
- Maintain proper hygiene.
- Take pain relievers for relief of pain.
- Try relaxing strategies.
