What is it?
Hand, foot and mouth disease is a mild infection that is caused by viruses; namely, coxsackievirus, enterovirus or echovirus. It is characterized by the appearance of rash on the feet and hands as well as around the mouth.

- Blisters on hands, feet and mouth.
- Pain in swallowing.
- Sore throat.
- Irritability.
- Cough.
- Runny nose.
- Loss of appetite.
- Fever.
- Headache.

- Topical oral anesthetic may help relieve the pain of mouth sores.
- Pain relievers can help ease pain and fever.
- Bed rest.
