What is it?

A ganglion cyst is a non-cancerous lump that often grows in the tendons or joints of the hand or wrist. The lump is often round or oval, feels soft and usually not painful.

What are the symptoms?

A ganglion cyst can manifest as a:

  • Lump that is soft and immobile over the back of the hand or on the wrist.
  • Lump is usually painless; however, it can be painful in some cases.

What to expect?

A ganglion cyst often clears on its own. If troublesome, consult with your GP.
