What is it?
An appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix, which is a slender pouch that is attached to the right side of the large bowel. An exact cause of appendicitis is usually not found.
What are the symptoms?
The common manifestation of the disease are:
- Tummy ache over the lower right side, but may start all over the the stomach.
- Vomiting.
- Nausea.
- Fever.
- Diarrhoea (in some cases).
What to expect?
If you are diagnosed with an appendicitis and have had surgery or other treatment you should seek medical help if:
- your abdominal pain increases.
- you develop a fever.
