An acoustic neuroma is a benign (non cancerous) tumor that grows in the nerve connecting the inner ear to the brain.

What are the symptoms?

Symptoms of an acoustic neuroma include:

  • Loss of hearing, typically more pronounced on one side.
  • Dizziness (the feeling that the world is moving around you).
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
